Something that merges a bunch of the same action together in the stream. E.g. if someone likes a bazillion pictures it makes one post on the stream instead of a bazillion.

Yes that was annoying and the guy got a temporary ban. The kind of thing you're suggesting is surprisingly complicated, however there are some options, limiting the amount of likes per day or archiving the feed more often, maybe let activities stay for 24 hours before they get wiped.
